In June 2022, Professor Han-Ping Hong, the international partner representative and adjunct professor of International Joint Research Center for Engineering Reliability and Stochastic Mechanics (JCERSM) of Tongji University and professor of Western University, Canada, was elected as fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Prof. Hong received his B.S, M.S and Ph.D. degrees from National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1984, 1984 and 1988 respectively. After completing his studies, Hong joined Western University in Canada. He has been engaged in probabilistic design and risk assessment of civil engineering, earthquake engineering, wind hazard analysis, and other research work for a long time, and has made a series of internationally renowned academic contributions. 

Prof. Hong was elected as foreign member of the Mexico Academy of Engineering in 2012.

Prof. Hong is one of the international partner representative initiating JCERSM at Tongji University, and has been the international junction professor of JCERSM since then.
